Operated by SER's subsidiary corporation, SERCO, Inc. , the Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Program is an intensive and comprehensive
job search and job placement program that emphasizes immediate labor force attachment, elimination of barriers, job training and education, job retention, and a comprehensive case management process that promotes long term successful outcomes that lead to economic self
sufficiency.

The JET program prepares participants for effective job search and placement. Participants learn how to appropriately complete the job application and resume as well as interviewing and follow-up techniques. Participants also learn workplace etiquette along with organizational and time-management skills. the JET program utilizes presentations, mock internviews, role playing, and computer skills training to assist participants to successfully navigate the web based job search process and to have a competitive edge in a landing a job.


JET also provides participants with barrier resolution counseling and provides supportive skills such as child care, transportation, and work related tools and clothing to ensure that all barriers to employment are eliminated.

The SERCO JET program works in close partnership with the Department of Human Services and is strategically located in two One Stop Center locations: 9301 Michigan Avenue in Southwest Detroit and 5555 Corner Avenue on the city's eastside.
