The SER Adult Education Center offers assessment, academic skills upgrading and GED Preparation to eligible participants.  Students begin their participation at the Center with an assessment that determines grade level competency, along with areas of academic weakness and strength.  Assessment outcomes are used by a certified instructor to work with the participant to develop a learning sequence that they can follow at their own pace and using an open lab format.  As students achieve mastery in a particular subject, they progress to a more advanced topic within that subject area until he/she has achieved mastery.  Upon completion of the learning sequence, the student is assessed and as appropriate, is scheduled for GED Testing. 

The Adult Education Center offers these services daily, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at SER’s Southwest Detroit location – 9301 Michigan Avenue.
